Naked2 Basics Review

Naked2 Basics

I have been a fan of the Naked Basics palette for a long time. I think the colors are so versatile and I use it for eyes, brows and liner. I was excited when I heard there would be a second Naked Basics.

I ordered this as soon as it came out. I have probably used this every day since it came in the mail. The over all quality of this palette is great. The shadows are super blend able and creamy and the packaging seems really durable. This palette (if you have never seen it) is about the size of a iPhone which makes it great for travel.

Above is a side by side comparison of the original Naked Basics. As you can tell the original (on top) has an almost white and a dark black and then some shades in-between. Naked Basics 2 (bottom) has a much more subtle shade range. It offers some cooler colors which I quite enjoy. My favorite shades from the Naked Basics 2 is "Cover" and "Undone".

I don't think, at this point, that I could choose a favorite. They are so different and I find myself using them both a lot for different reasons. Picking one would depend on what you want your end result to be. You will get a smokier look with the original palette and a more wearable every day look with the second one. You can find them both at Sephora or the Urban Decay website. ($29.00 or $17.40 with pro discount)

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post and let me know your thoughts on these palettes!

  1. I feel like I need to try it out before I make the purchase... I don't know, it looks so similar to the first one! I mean, I can see the differences but I'm not sure if I can justify having both. Thanks for the recommendation, Ima head out and check it out now!

  2. I've always wanted to love the Naked Basics Palettes but I have a darker skin tone and I am worried that the shadows won't show up or look as nice as they would on someone with fair skin.....The struggle is real haha, the swatches were pretty helpful tho :D
