Why "Draw the Line" is the Perfect Eye Liner Set!

I personally have not purchased this set because I actually own all of these eye liners on there own. When I saw this set online I knew I needed to post about it. This set contains 4 of the best eye liners I have used.

1. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liner in "Dark Brown" is an amazing liquid liner. It will last you all day with no budging.
2. Kat Von D Deluxe Tattoo liner in "Trooper" is my favorite felt tip liner. The felt tip does not fray and break apart which a lot of other felt tip liners do. It also is smudge proof and will last all day.
3. NARS Via Veneto Larger Than Life Long Wear Eyeliner is one of my favorite pencil liners. This product sets very quickly and does not move so its great for a precise application. I own this in black and brown and it is my go to liner every day!
4. Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner in Blacquer is a great pencil for the smokey looks. This takes a little longer to set so you really have time to smudge it out. Once this liner does set, it isn't going to move. I love this liners because they are a more satin/shimmer finish.

The other two eye liners in this kit are really good but not my favorites.

1. Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil 12 Hour Wear in Black lace is a good eye pencil but I did find that it smudged a bit in the corner of my eyes. I definitely did not find that this pencil wears 12 hours.. maybe 3 or 4 with out smudging.
2. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Double ended eye pencil in Perversion and Rockstar is the last pencil in this kit. I have a love hate relationship with the Urban Decay 24/7 pencils and I think I may be the only one in the beauty world who feels that way. I love the shade range and the application but I just don't think they wear as well as the Marc Jacobs or the NARS pencils. This is not the worst eye liner in the world but definitely not the best.

I believe all of the liners in this kit are a half sized version. That being said, I have had my NARS eye liners for at least 3 months and I wear them every day and I still have a ton of product left. I think this kit is such a steal! It is a great way to try new eye liners and test out the different applications.

This kit is for sale at Sephora for $30.00 ($79.00 value). I would highly recommend picking this up or ordering it online!

I hope this was helpful!

"Film Star Bronze and Glow" Palette

Film Star Bronze and Glow Palette

As you may or may not know, Charlotte Tilbury products are now sold in the U.S. I have been looking forward to getting my hands on some of her products for a long time, this palette in particular. I purchased this palette on Beautylish.

I am a big fan of dewy/glowy skin and this palette gives me just that. It is a shimmery bronzer on one side and the perfect highlighter on the other. Sometimes shimmery bronzers can have chunks of glitter which I do not like. This one is more of a satin shimmer. This is a cooler brown which I love because it can also work as a contour shade.

The packaging is a really beautiful rose gold. I love how luxurious it feels and looks. Also, I love that there isn't a lot of excess packaging. When you open it you can see that you get a lot of product.

From the swatches you can see that this brown really isn't too deep. This works great for my skin tone but could probably only work for light to medium skin tones. I am hoping she comes out with at least one shade deeper for darker skin tones. This highlighter could be used on pretty much anyone but just remember a little goes a long way!

I am so happy with the pigmentation and blend ability of this product. There is nothing more anoying  than a blotchy bronzer. I have had no problems with the longevity but I do use primers etc. to help my makeup last longer.

This palette has been all the rave in Hollywood and has been used on tons of celebrities for red carpet events. I was excited to finally get my hands on it and try it out for myself.

Here is the kicker, it costs $65.00. OUCH  That is definitely an expensive highlight/contour palette. I would suggest this to people who love trying new products or people who are willing to invest in a few great products for there makeup collection. These colors are VERY beautiful but definitely not one of a kind.

Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and I know I will use it a ton. Besides the color range, there isn't anything I dislike about this product.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and comment below with some of your favorite highlight/contour products.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette Coming Soon!

I saw this on Sephora's website this morning and I wanted to make sure I shared it ASAP. Hourglass is one of my favorite brands at the moment. There powders, blushes, lip products and tinted moisturizer have been some of my favorite products this year. I was so excited when they launched the Ambient Lighting Blush's and now I am even more excited to get my hands on the palette.

This set includes three shades:
1. Luminous Flush- a champagne rose. This is the only shade I own already and I use it a ton!
2. Incandescent Electra - a cool peach. This is a new shade that is not in the current blush line.
3. Mood Exposure- a soft plum.

This palette contains .11 oz of product per blush compared to a regular size of .15 oz. These cost $35.00 on there own and this palette is $58.00 which makes this a really great deal.

You may have to be a VIB Rouge to sign up for the notification when it becomes available. All I know now is that it is "coming soon".

I will definitely be purchasing this palette and when I do I can do a post with swatches etc.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in La Caline 36

La Caline 36

I have a confession to make... I have an obsession with Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipsticks. I have fallen in love and there is nothing anyone can do to change my mind.

"La Caline 36" is a gorgeous pinky nude shade that can pretty much work with any makeup look you want to create. It has a velvety matte finish which is really nice!

These lipsticks are so smooth and comfortable to wear. This shade lasts (on my lips) about 3 hours before I need to reapply. It is not super long wearing but it doesn't leave any weird ring or blotchy stain behind. I purchased this lipstick at Nordstrom but it can be purchased at any Chanel counter. ($35.00)

I am a huge fan of these lipsticks and I think if you are going to get a special lipstick to wear for a special occasion, I would highly recommend these.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this and let me know what your favorite high end lipstick is!

New Laura Mercier Concealer: Hit or Miss?

Laura Mercier launched a new concealer this year called "High Coverage Concealer for Under Eye". I love me some concealers so I decided to pick it up and give it a go.

Here is the online description "A unique three-in-one, highly pigmented concealer designed to cover, de-puff, and brighten dark undereye circles, while nourishing and smoothing skin. A little goes a long way, so just use a “pin drop".”

Other info:  There are 12 shades in this concealer range. I have shade 2 which is the 4th lightest shade ( I have fair/ivory skin). There is .27 fl oz of product. (comparison: NARS .22 fl oz, MUFE Full Coverage .5 fl oz)

I have been using this concealer the past two weeks and unfortunately it just does not live up to my expectations. I think Laura Mercier makes beautiful foundations and powders and I love her secret  concealer. This concealer is definitely full coverage but I think it looks chalky on the skin. I noticed, pretty much every time I wore this, that it does this weird separating thing on my skin. It kind of makes me look like I have scales. Also, they are not kidding with they say a "pin drop" this stuff is THICK. Its actually kind of hard to squeeze out of the tube. The "de puff" claim is hard to review. I don't have super puffy under eyes and when I do to lack of sleep I usually use an eye cream or roller ball before applying my makeup. I can say that there is no noticeable difference right away but maybe with use over time?

I think for the price, you can find something much better. I would recommend her Secret Concealer or Bobbi Brown Corrector if you are looking for a corrective under eye concealer.

Of course, this is just my opinion and I would always recommend trying products for yourself. Some products may not work for me that may work wonders for you. This product was just a miss for me.

I purchased this at Sephora for $28.00. You can also get it on the Laura Mercier Website

If you have tried this product let me know your thoughts!

Avon Extra Lasting Eyeshadow Pencils

It is hard to describe in words my love for these Avon Extra Lasting Eyeshadow Pencils. I discovered these a few months ago and have used them in my professional kit on every job since.

This is your basic eye shadow pencil ( similar to Mally Evercolor Shadow Sticks or the Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks). They are extremely pigmented, super blend able and once they set they are waterproof.

I apply these either all over the lid and blend them out as an eye shadow or use a brush with them to apply as an eye liner.

From left to right:
1. Shimmering Sand - a metallic cream
2. Crystal Taupe - a metallic taupe
3. Amethyst - a metallic light purplish brown
4. Topaz Shimmer - a metallic bronze
5. Rich Cocoa - a matte dark brown
6. Smokey Plum - a satin deep purple

There are 10 total shades in the line and I will probably be picking up the other 4 soon. These are on Avon website for $8.50 but currently on sale for $4.99.  I highly recommend these to anyone looking to add a new shade to there eye shadow routine. They are so easy to use and last so long on the eye.

These do take about 2 minutes to completely set so give them a moment to dry when using them as eye liner etc.

I do not have a bad word to say about this product. They are wonderful and cheap which is a killer combination.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post.

My Favorite Fall Blushes

You may think, "Hey Hope these blushes all look the same?" my answer to you is yes they do haha.  I guess you can tell the shade I reach for most in the fall months. I actually didn't realize how similar these were until I took this photograph. Although these are very similar, there are slight differences.

NARS Blush in "Dolce Vita" is a matte dusty rose. This has a more pink tone to it than the other two. I love the whole Dolce Vita color range that NARS offers. ($30.00)

theBalm Cabana Boy is a dusty rose with subtle shimmer. This has a more berry tone to it. I love pairing this with my deeper lip sticks. ( Don't you live the nice swatch mark I left in this blush) theBalm blushes are extremely pigmented so I would recommend using very little. ( $21.00)

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush in "Exposed" is a matte nude pink. This shade has more of a brown undertone. I wear this blush a lot with brighter lip sticks and reds. ( $26.00)

I hope you all enjoyed this post and let me know of any other fall colors I should try!

My Birthday Wish List

I can't believe it's already September. I feel like this summer flew by very quickly. My birthday is in a few weeks and wanted to share with you all what I have my eye on. Most of it is actually from Madewell this year! I will start from the top left..

1. NARSissist Eyeshadow Palette: I have had my eye on this ever since it came out. It looks so lovely and I can't wait to finally get my hands on it. 15 shades of NARS eyeshadows in one palette? How could I not want this.

2. Collarless Popover in Elmhurst Check: I love Madewell's popover shirts and I do not have anything in this black and white check in my wardrobe. I wear a lot of dark jeans and boots and I think I will wear this shirt a ton!

3. Fresh Rose Face Mask: I have been looking for a good hydrating mask and I have been loving the rose scent lately. I like Fresh products a lot so I think I will really enjoy this.

4. Charlie Boot in "Cigar": I love Madewell's boots and I am OBSESSED with these. I am pretty sure I would wear this every day.

5. Tracklist Side-Zip Pullover: I need a comfy black sweater for the winter time and I love the side zip detail of this one. Madewell's sweaters are the bomb and think this one is super cute.

6. The Watertower Messenger Bag: I know, I know it seems like I am obsessed with Madewell at the moment but I just think they have a wonderful fall collection out right now. This bag is a great color because it can be paired with black or brown accessories. I love colors that are neutral with out necessarily being a normal "neutral". I think this bag is a great size and will be great to have on my trip to Europe this winter.

I hope you all enjoyed my birthday wishlist.

Naked2 Basics Review

Naked2 Basics

I have been a fan of the Naked Basics palette for a long time. I think the colors are so versatile and I use it for eyes, brows and liner. I was excited when I heard there would be a second Naked Basics.

I ordered this as soon as it came out. I have probably used this every day since it came in the mail. The over all quality of this palette is great. The shadows are super blend able and creamy and the packaging seems really durable. This palette (if you have never seen it) is about the size of a iPhone which makes it great for travel.

Above is a side by side comparison of the original Naked Basics. As you can tell the original (on top) has an almost white and a dark black and then some shades in-between. Naked Basics 2 (bottom) has a much more subtle shade range. It offers some cooler colors which I quite enjoy. My favorite shades from the Naked Basics 2 is "Cover" and "Undone".

I don't think, at this point, that I could choose a favorite. They are so different and I find myself using them both a lot for different reasons. Picking one would depend on what you want your end result to be. You will get a smokier look with the original palette and a more wearable every day look with the second one. You can find them both at Sephora or the Urban Decay website. ($29.00 or $17.40 with pro discount)

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post and let me know your thoughts on these palettes!

A Flawless Face with Chanel

I am a huge sucker for Chanel makeup. Yes it is super luxurious, expensive and hyped up but overall I have not been disappointed in any Chanel product I have purchased which is why I keep coming back. I have blushes, eye shadows, and lip products that I love but I wanted to talk about some of the face products that I love.

1. Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation-

  • Pros: Medium Coverage, Nice Scent, SPF 15, It has a pump, Beautiful packaging, lasts well on the skin, 16 shades to choose from, skin like finish
  • Cons: Expensive ($57.00), the scent may not be good for people with sensitive skin
Overall I would rate this foundation an 8/10. If the price tag wasn't so high, I would recommend this to everyone. It really is a beautiful foundation that feels very luxurious.

2. Chanel Vitalumiere Agua Foundation-

  • Pros: Sheer Coverage, it is a plastic package so its very light and good for traveling, looks like skin, a nice scent, SPF 15, More reasonably priced ($45.00)
  • Cons: Only 10 shades to choose from, doesn't last as well on my skin,
I would rate this foundation a 6/10. This would be a wonderful foundation for someone who is looking for the same coverage as a tinted moisturizer. It is a good foundation but I am always looking for a foundation that will last a good 10 hours on my skin. This one usually only lasts about 6 which is why I am giving it a lower score. If you don't care as much about staying power then this might work wonderfully for you. That being said, I still love the finish and I wear it a lot.

3. Chanel Correcteur Perfection Long Lasting Concealer-

  • Pros: Moisturizing, perfect color match, skin like finish, great for under eyes, medium coverage
  • Cons: Price tag ($40.00), only 6 shades offered, doesn't last as long on blemishes as it does on the under eye area.
I really like this concealer for my under eye area. It doesn't crease as long as I powder it. It is a beautiful  texture and really adds brightness to my under eye area. I do think it is a tad expensive for what it is but I am glad I have it in my collection and I use it all the time.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post and let me know if you have any recommendations for other Chanel face products!
