May Favorites

Hello Everyone!
I have had a very consistent group of favorites for the month of May. I would say that I probably used 80% of these every day. Some of these are old favorites and some of them are first time favorites.

1. "Mary-Lou Manizer" by TheBalm is a wonderful highlight that I have loved for months and months. It is the perfect shade for fair to medium skin. There is also SO much product in this package (8.5 grams to be exact) which means I will never run out of it. :)

2. "Betty-Lou Manizer" by TheBalm is a super shimmery bronzer. I normally don't like shimmery bronzer but for some reason I have really been loving it this summer. I think it adds such a nice glowing tan to my fair skin. It also has the same amount of product (8.5 grams) and because I use so little I will also have this forever!

3. Bobbi Brown Corrector in "Light Peach" is my go to concealer/corrector. I think everyone and there mom knows about this product so I am not going to go into much detail but it works well, stays on and doesn't crease when I powder it. I have hit major pan on this product and I will be repurchasing once I run out.

4. "Frat Boy" by TheBalm has been my favorite blush this month. Its a great natural flush with out being to much of a statement. I also love the pigmentation and consistency of TheBalm blushes. They are some of my favorites!

5. Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in "Rose" has been a favorite for over two months now. Its the best shade to enhance my natural lip color and it also lasts forever. Its a liquid lipstick that basically dries into a matte finish stain. I also love the packaging of this product.

6. Almay One Coat Get Up and Grow Mascara has been a favorite before. I was finishing up my Dior mascara ( if you have read my other posts you know how much I love that one) and I decided to save some money and use a drugstore mascara for a while. I forgot how much I love this one. It has fibers which attach to the ends of your lashes and if you apply two or more coats it really lengthens as well as makes your lashes look super thick. Its such an amazing mascara :)

Below are some swatches of the powder and lip products!

May has been a wonderful month for me and I hope you all have enjoyed it as well!! Let me know what some of your favorite products are this month!

I hope this was helpful :)

Almay Color+Care Liquid Lip Balm

Hello Everyone!
The Almay Color+Care Liquid Lip Balm is a relatively new product in the beauty industry. I purchased one for myself to try about 5 months ago and I really loved the formula and the look of the glossy balm on my lips. I decided it would be a great product for my pro kit.

I chose 5 shades to put in my kit. I wanted a wide variety of colors so the above picture gives you an idea of the shade range I went with. I believe at the time of purchasing these, they were buy 1 get 1 50% off and at $5.99 each it was such a steal.

These are the shades I chose from left to right:

1. "600 Blooming"- a really classic baby pink.
2. "500 Pink"- a mid toned hot pink
3. "800 Rosy Lipped"- a mid toned nude (my 3rd tube of this color)
4. "950 Truffle"- warm brown with slight shimmer
5. "900 Apricot"- a bright coral/orange

I think that using a liquid lip balm instead of a normal gloss is a great way to keep your lips hydrated. These lip balms are so comfortable. They are not sticky and do not separate on the lips. I also think the color pay off is great! I will sometimes just use a lip liner and one of these as a completed lip look or I will layer over a matte lipstick to give the lip a nice sheen.

Overall I would say you can't go wrong with this product. Its cheap, comfortable and really pretty. I have seen these on sale a few times over the past few months so keep your eye out for the BOGO. ;)

These can be purchased at ULTA or any drugstore. As far as I can tell there are 10 shades in this range.

Let me know if you have a shade not shown above that you love!

I hope this was helpful :)

My New NARS Duo's

Hello Everyone!
I am so sorry I have been MIA these past few weeks, work got super crazy and I also moved which took up a lot of my time. I am now settled into my new home and ready to begin blogging again!

I just purchased some new NARS products and I wanted to share my thoughts and some swatches.

1. NARS Duo in " Kalahari"

I have had my eyes on this duo for a very long time. I love how beautiful yet subtle these colors are.  I have worn this one almost every day. I use the gold shade (left) on my lid and the more purple one (right) in my crease. They both are very pigmented and last all day.

I did not think that the shade on the right would work for my crease but it adds just enough depth to my crease for a subtle look. I am really loving this duo! It would be a great palette for someone who wants a natural eye look.

2. NARS Duo in " Surabaya"

I just took a leap of faith on this duo. It looked really pretty on the website and I love these cranberry/ copper shades with my eye color. I honestly have not worn this a ton, not because I don't like it just because now that it is summer I find myself wearing more pinks and oranges on my lips and a more neutral eye. That being said, these colors are gorgeous.

The color on the left has a definite gold undertone and the color on the right is more of a cranberry. The cranberry shade isn't quite as pigmented as I had hoped. The swatch above took at least two swipes of color to get this pigmentation. The color on the left is super pigmented. This is a great palette for people with yellow undertones and people with a medium to deep complexion.

3. NARS Duo in "Cordura "

This was another leap of faith purchase. I wanted to find a NARS duo that I could recommend to my clients that could be a staple product. I believe this shade looked a bit different on the website. When I opened this one up I was annoyed with the chunks of glitter that I saw. Luckily it doesn't swatch glittery!

The shade on the left is very similar to the gold shade in "Surabaya" with a little bit less warmth. The shade on the right is a dark brown. They both do have some glitter in it but not enough to keep me from wearing it. I am really happy with the pigmentation of both of these colors. That being said, I do not think this duo is anything super special. If you have these shades in other palettes I would suggest saving your money. If you are looking for a very basic duo and you wear these shades a ton then I would snatch this one up. I have tons of these colors in my kit so I will probably keep this duo in my personal makeup stash.

NARS Duo's retail for $35.00 and $21.00 with a professional discount. These eye shadows are on the more expensive side but I do really love them. You can purchase these at Sephora or on the NARS website

Let me know if there is any NARS products you recommend or anything that you want me to review!

I hope this was helpful :)
