September Favorites

Hello Everyone!
I am sorry I have been MIA this past week. It has been a crazy week full of work and my 21st birthday :)

Anyways, I wanted to share with you guys some of my favorite products this month!!

1. Physicians Formula Felt Tip Eye Marker:

I love this eye liner!! It has been one of the best felt tipped eye liners I have found at the drugstore. It reminds me a lot of the Kat Von D tattoo liner. I have been using this product a lot this month and I would highly recommend trying it for yourself!!

2. Milani Baked Blush "Red Vino"
The slight change in weather this month has inspired me to reach for fall shades. This baked blush is a really beautiful berry color that looks stunning with any eye look. The gold that is intertwined in this blush adds a really pretty glow to the skin. This is also a product I would highly recommend trying.

3. Marc Jacobs Eye Shadow Palette in "Lolita"

I purchased this palette when the Marc Jacobs makeup line launched. I have used it a ton. I love the neutral shades that are offered. That being said, if you already have the Naked Palette, Lorac Pro Palette or any other great neutral palette this is not a necessity. If you are looking for a new palette or obsessed with neutral palettes like I am, then I would definitely give this palette a go!!

4.Cover FX Mattifying Primer
This was actually kind of a random purchase, but I am so glad that I made the decision to buy this. It leaves the skin feeling so smooth and soft. I have also noticed that it really helps my foundation to last a lot longer. I bought this from Sephora and I really want to go and buy the anti-aging primer by Cover FX as well. LOVE this :)

5. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer
This product has been featured on this blog a lot. I still use it every single day. I love the color payoff, staying powder and how it brightens up my face so much. It is my go to under eye concealer and I don't see that changing any time soon.

6.  Makeup Forever HD Foundation
I have been using this foundation a ton this month! My skin has finally cleared up a bit and this foundation foundation has been perfect for a sheer coverage but still covering any imperfections. I use this a lot on clients but have really enjoyed using it on myself   :)

7. Murad Clarifying Cleanser

This cleanser has been a life saver and a game changer. Last month was an extremely sad and stressful time in my life and due to the stress and lack of sleep my skin went CRAZY. I broke out like crazy around my chin and my skin was just a mess. I bought this from Sephora in hopes that it would help at least a little. This face wash cleared up my skin completely in less than 2 weeks. It has seriously worked better than I could have ever imagined any face wash working.

I hope this was helpful :)

Pro Makeup Kit: Favorite Eye Shadow Palette

Hello Everyone!
I wanted to share with you guys what I use daily for clients. I have about 4 eye shadow palettes in my kit but I am always reaching for this one!

This palette is labeled "MUD & LORAC" but really this has quite a few MAC shadows in it as well. I organized this palette in a specific way that makes sense to me. I started from the top and placed matte neutrals on the top row, satin finish neutrals on the second row, pinks and purples on the third row, and grays blues and blacks on the bottom.

Even though this palette does have some "color" I still consider this a very neutral palette. I find that I can do any look with this palette especially when it is a bridal look or for film and tv.

Below is the palette labeled as best as I could:

The circular ones that are not labeled are all from the Make-Up Designory. I know I went to school here and you may think I am biased for liking these, but they are actually really great eye shadows. The three square shaped eye shadows are Lorac eye shadows that I popped out of the candy bar shaped palettes from this past holiday collection.

Some of my favorites from this palette are:
1. Malt- Mac eye shadow
2. Taupe- Make-Up Designory Eye shadow
3. The redish shimmery color that is not labeled- Make-Up Designory eye shadow
4. Club- Mac eye shadow
5. Smut- Mac eye shadow

I love these Z Palettes ( the palette above) because you just buy them empty and fill them with any eye shadows that work for you. They are great for eye shadows, blushes, bronzers, lipsticks, and concealers. I have found that they are quite fragile though which is super annoying. I have 4 Z-Palettes in my kit and 2 of them have already cracked.

Purchase a Z-Palette HERE :)

I am in the market for new MAC eye shadows. If you have any you recommend please comment below :)

I also carry the Naked palette, Naked basics palette, a Smashbox palette, and a Laura Mercier eye shadow palette in my kit. I am probably going to ditch the Smashbox palette soon and replace it with the Naked 2 and the Lorac Pro because I will use both of those a lot more.

If you would like to see a review or swatches of any of the palettes listed above please let me know!

I hope this was helpful :)

Wet N Wild Eye Trio " Silent Treatment"

Hello Everyone!
I have quite a few Wet N Wild eye palettes but most of them aren't every day kinda palettes. When I stumbled upon "Silent Treatment" it changed the game for me.

Now I know that the placement for these shadows are engraved into the product, but there are other ways to wear this product. I personally do not like when products are labeled for specific places. Most makeup products are very versatile :)

Anyways, the three eye shadows in this palette work very well together. You could do an every day eye makeup or make it a little bit smokier with that "crease" color.

The first color in the palette is a great color for highlighting the inner corner. It is also a great lid color! I personally do not use it for the brow bone because I do not like shimmery colors on my brow bone. This is a shimmery light pink.

The second color in this palette is a great crease color! I loving using this to create the "outer V" shape for a smokey eye. This could also be double as an eye liner if you take a fine liner brush and smudge it into the lash line! I know this color looks like it may have chunks of glitter in it but don't worry it does not come off like that on your eye. Also, this color looks a bit more on the purple side (at least on my eye).

I love this third color. I use this color to blend on the crease color to create a fading effect. I also love using this color by itself. It is a great all over lid color! My favorite shade in this palette :)

As you can tell above, the "brow bone" color is very light but it does look great on the eye! I love Wet N Wild eye shadows. There shadows are probably the best when it comes to drugstore eye shadows.  They are all so pigmented, they last a long time, and they have tons of shades and are always coming out with new collections. The best part.... SO CHEAP $2.99 for a trio and $4.99 for 6 pan palette.

I wanted to create an every day look with this palette. I used the "brow bone" color on my lid and inner corner. Then I took the "crease" color on my outer v and down into my lower lash line. I then took the "eyelid" shade and blended on the crease color up onto the brow bone and below into the inner corner.

If you have an opportunity to pick up any Wet N Wild eye shadows I would highly recommend them! I think they are great quality for money and you get a ton of product! You can find them at CVS and Walgreens. I am not sure if any other drugstore carries the products but if so let me know!!

Let me know if you would like to see a review on any other Wet N Wild eye palette!

I hope this was helpful :)

Haul: Marc Jacobs, Becca, Chanel and more!

Hello Everyone!
I went to Sephora with a good friend this morning to find her a lip color for her wedding. If you are obsessed with makeup, like myself, you know you can not go into Sephora with out leaving with a bag full of products! Should I have purchased all of this stuff? NO Did I need any of this stuff? NO but that is why I can admit openly that I am obsessed. :)

Now before you judge me, I actually got a lot of this stuff for free! (aka because I spend to much money there and I had a lot of points).  I actually only purchased three items. I will go through the items I purchased first and give you my first impression!

P.S. This may be a long post :)

1. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed

Okay this product I actually did "need" for my pro kit. I have a really beautiful highlight with a pink undertone but I really wanted to have a highlighter with a gold undertone for my medium to dark skin toned women. This product screamed buy me. It was beautiful in the package and I knew I had to swatch it.

It is so pigmented and it is exactly the color I was looking for! My first impression is that it is beautiful!
A lot will go a long way.

Price: $38.00 (yes I know it is very pricey)
Purchase Here

2. Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Crayon in "Ro (cocoa)"

I was not in the market for a new brown eye liner but I swatched this in the store and then a few minutes later I was trying to wipe it off with makeup remover and it would not come off.. Which means the staying power had to be incredible and that I needed it.

If this liner is as incredible as my first impression, I will buy the rest of them for my pro kit. I believe there are 6 shades. It is so creamy and easy to apply.

Price: $25.00
Purchase Here

3. Cover FX Mattifying Primer with Anti-Acne Treatment

I have heard wonderful things about this Cover FX mattifying primer. I keep a lot of primers in my pro kit but I did not have a mattifying one yet. I thought that anti-acne treatment was a nice bonus as well.

I used this on one of my friends when I was doing her makeup and she said it had a slight burning sensation. I will have to try this for a few weeks before I use it on anyone else to make sure it isn't to uncomfortable.

Price: $38.00 (pretty pricey for a primer)

The next items I got as gifts. :)

1.Bobbi Beauty to Go:
Sephora has a beauty insider card that you can gain points by shopping! I always save my points until they have something awesome. I used 500 points on a Tarte "best of the brand" gift a couple of months ago. After checking out today I had about 700 more points and I cashed 500 of them in for this amazing set! I love Bobbi Brown and this mini palette may be the cutest thing I have ever seen..

I wore this palette today and it was just as amazing as it looks. The eye shadow is very pigmented and I love the unique neutral shades. I also love the blush. It is a really pretty flushed color on my fair skin. This palette is about the size of a credit card. It will be more than perfect for traveling. LOVE IT.

I used the Mascara today and it seemed fairly lousy but I hate giving first impressions on mascara so I am going to keep using it and give you all a legit review!

I am very excited to try this eye cream. I have been on the market for a new eye cream and this fell into my lap at the perfect time! I will do a review on this as well :)

2. VIB Rouge

Okay so I do not know all of the details about being a VIB Rouge member but I do know that I got this amazing lipstick that is exclusive to VIB Rouge members. It is a beautiful deep red.

I am a big fan of Bite lip products and I have a feeling this will be no different but again, I will do a separate review after I use this product a bunch.

3.Real Birthday Turn On's
September is my birthday month and so they gave me this cute little birthday gift! I love benefit cosmetics. This kit includes a "they're real" mascara and a "whats up" highlighter. I already know I love this mascara but I am very excited about this highlighter!
Isn't it funny to buy a product and then they give you one free? This seems so similar to the Becca cosmetics highlighter that I purchased. Oh well! I will keep this one and put the other in my pro kit!!

3. Chanel Mademoiselle Perfume
Okay so this was a very unexpected gift. I had my eye on this at the Chanel counter and I fell in love with the scent instantly. I took a picture in hopes that I could get if for my birthday from my parents or boyfriend or something. As we finished shopping, my friend and I got to the car and she surprised me with it. I was shocked!!! I still can't believe she bought this for me as a "thank you"/ early birthday present. I am so so so thankful for this incredible gift. This product makes me feel so pretty. Do you have a makeup product or any other beauty product that makes you feel so wonderful?? This is it for me right now :)

I know this was the worlds longest blog post and I apologize  :)

I am very excited about all of my new products and super excited to review them all for you guys!!

I hope this was helpful :)

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

Hello Everyone!
I purchased this product when I was working on the film "The Circle" because I was getting about 6 hours of sleep a night for about 6 weeks. I do not normally have dark under eye circles but lack of sleep made my dark circles much more prominent.
This product claims to treat under eye circles. It is hard to say if it has actually treated the area.. I will say that this has been my go to under eye concealer for the past few months. I think it has great coverage, lasts a long time, and brightens up my under eye area.

For personal use I do not mind the sponge tipped applicator. I think that it makes it easy to use. Is it the most sanitary product? No not at all and that is why I could never use this product in my pro kit. If this product had a pump, I would love to get a range of shades to use on others.

This round tip does make it easy to swipe under neath your eyes. I then take a brush or my fingers to blend the product out. I then set it with a very fine setting powder.

The packaging itself does not really make sense to me.. Its a twist up which means there is a little stopper that pushes the product down. If you can see in the picture at the top product has escaped and has run up the sides which means that product is now wasted. Sad :(

As you can tell from the picture to the left, I do not have dark under eye circles by any means, but I love the way this concealer brightens and gives the "smooth" appearance under the eye. It also does not look thick or "cakey" and I love that. :)

Overall I think this is a stand out concealer as far as drugstore concealers are concerned.

Price: $7.99

You can purchase this product at any drugstore that carries Maybelline products and Walmart or Target!

I hope this was helpful :)

Wet N Wild Lipstick "Dollhouse Pink"

Hello Everyone!
I was looking for a lipstick that I could wear for a few more weeks before I move into my darker or nude lipsticks for fall. I stumbled upon this gem in my collection.

This is "Dollhouse pink" from Wet N Wild. When I saw this color I knew I needed to wear this as much as I can before fall comes around.

I love Wet N Wild lipsticks because they are so insanely pigmented and so cheap!

Now, I will say this pink is VERY neon pink. When I swatched it on my hand it did not look as pink as it does on my lips!

This pink is very similar to MAC Viva Glam 2 which was the collection with Nicki Minaj. It is not the exact same but it is the same "pastel lavender pink".

(excuse all of the weird hair on my forehead haha )

This is not an every day kinda color by no means, but it sure is a fun way to end the summer!! I paired this with a baby pink blush and a taupe eye color. I love the way this color pops against my fair skin. I think this color will look great on lots of skin tones!

I would highly recommend this product. I think the pigmentation is great, the formula is creamy and does not dry out my lips, and it is just so much fun :)

You can purchase this product at CVS and Walgreens or at any other drugstore that carries WNW products!

Price: $1.99... Yup amazing!!

Let me know if you want me to review any other lipsticks from Wet N Wild. They have tons of different shades!

I hope this was helpful :)

Urban Decay Eye Shadow "Sin"

Hello Everyone!
I was going through my kit and stumbled upon this little beauty. When I first purchased this eye shadow, I wore it every day for weeks. I am honestly not sure why I stopped using it! "Sin" is probably one of my favorite shades in the Urban Decay line!

I love this color. It is a gorgeous super shimmery light pink. It is a shade that you could wear all over your lid with a bit of liner and mascara and be out the door. It looks a bit different when the light is hitting it directly, it almost looks white.

I love this eye shadow on the lid, the tear duct and blended with a darker shade in the crease. It lasts for ages on the eye ( just like all Urban Decay shadows). I also love the packaging for this product. I think it is edgy yet still beautiful.

If you already have the naked palette, you are in luck! The second shade from the left is "Sin"! If you have the Naked 2, unfortunatly Sin is not in this palette but you do have amazing shades like "ydk", "chopper" and "half baked" which I use for all of the same things!

Overall this is a stand out shade in the Naked Palette and by itself! I would highly recommend trying it if you haven't already!!

I hope this was helpful :)
