"My Lips but Better" Lipstick Palette

Hello Everyone!

So I was on a mission to make a new lipstick palette for film/tv work. In my experience, I find that 99% of the time they want a "no makeup" makeup look. A really pretty natural makeup look. This inspired to me to put together a palette of lipsticks that will enhance your lip color with out having your lips be the center of attention. These are the lipsticks I have found so far:
I have melted these six lipsticks down into this palette I bought from the Engineer Guy. For those makeup artists out there it is the same palette that most alcohol palettes come in.

1. MAC- Creme Cup  ($15.00)
This is a pretty light pink shade. It is not super pigmented which is really nice and it has a nice sheen to it. I can not seem to find this shade on the website but I did purchase this shade at the MAC Pro store.  This is the lightest shade in my palette.

2. Rimmel- Airy Fairy  ($4.49)
This is a bit more pigmented then "Creme Cup". It has a more mauve feel to it. I purchased this at target but you can buy this shade at any drugstore!

3. MAC- Viva Glam V ($15.00)
I fell in love with this shade when I went to the MAC store last week. It is considered a neutral pink with pearl in it. It is a super sheer pink that leaves a nice tint on the lips. I would even say this is more of a tinted balm with nice pigment.

4. MAC-Viva Glam II ($15.00)
This is probably the most pigmented and matte shade of them all. It comes off much darker on the lips than the rest in this palette. It definitely has more beige in it compared to the others. Also a beautiful lipstick with a nice satin finish.

5. NARS- Tolede ($26.00)
This is one of the newest shades for the satin lipstick collection that NARS offers. It is a gorgeous pinky rose. I would say a step down from VGII in pigmentation but definitely more pigmented than the other three.

6. BITE- PEPPER ( $24.00)
I love all of BITE's lipsticks. I purchased a palette of a bunch of their colors over the holidays and I find myself reaching for it a lot. Pepper is one of those colors I discovered by accident. I actually meant to buy a different color from the palette and ended up at home with this color. I LOVE it. It is a super sheer plum rose.  It adds a soft touch of color with out looking done up at all! It is also a color that could easily be adjusted with lip liners.

Swatches:
I have also recently ordered NARS- Dolce Vita which I have a feeling will end up in the palette as well! That leaves me room for three more! Let me know if you have any suggestions!

I hope this was helpful! :)

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation

Siberia Sheer Glow Foundation
I purchased this foundation about a week ago and wanted to share my thoughts and opinions with you all! I was super excited to try this because I have been on a NARS kick lately. I really love the tinted moisturizer so I figured I would give this a shot!

First off this is the description on the website:
"A glowing, satin-finish foundation with sheer and buildable coverage that immaculately evens skin tone. Replete with skincare benefits and the NARS Complexion Brightening Formula, it leaves skin hydrated, more luminous, softer and smoother. Used daily, Sheer Glow Foundation improves the skin's brightness and texture."

My thoughts on the foundation:
Yes this is a sheer and buildable coverage that will even out your skin tone. If you have darker under eye circles or any acne scaring/acne you will still need a concealer. I have very normal skin. It never is oily and is never super dry. This foundation is 100% matte. I was definitely expecting a dewy finish with the claims that it made. I almost even feel as if it dries out my skin a little. That being said, the staying power is pretty good. I do not powder this because of how matte is it and it still lasts me a good part of the day. I find it breaks down first around my nose and on my chin (kinda random).

I purchased the shade "Siberia" which is the lightest shade. I purchased it from Sephora but they have all of the shades on the NARS website.

Over all I would give this foundation a 7/10

I think that those of you with oily skin should try this! I think that It would work wonders with oily skin! The main reason I give this a 7/10 is because the claim that is makes. Also it is one of the most expensive foundations ($44.00) and I think that there are way better foundations out there!

REMEMBER this is just my opinion. I always recommend trying products for yourself!

I am currently trying some NARS lipsticks and eye shadows. I will review those soon!

Thanks for reading and have a great Tuesday!

I hope this was helpful :)

Concealers On My Mind

Hello All!

I was going through my makeup kit today and I kept finding myself thinking I want to try more concealers. I have discovered a few this year that I LOVE but its always fun to explore and find new holy grail products.

First, I want to explain what a concealer/ corrector does and why I use them. A corrector is a tool to counter act any discoloration, dark circles, blemishes etc. In order to do so, you need to find the opposite color on the color wheel.

Example:

If you have blue toned under eye circles, you would conceal with a salmon concealer.

If you have redness in your skin or blemishes, you would use a green based concealer.

If you have purple toned under eye circles, you would use a yellow based concealer.

This is the makeup "rule" but really there are no rules in makeup... I generally stick to the color wheel when it comes to adjusting foundations and covering under eye circles. I personally break the rules when it comes to concealing blemishes and redness. In order to conceal redness you need to match the tone and shade exactly. Unless I am doing a wedding trial or just messing around I generally do not have the time to figure it out.  I will conceal blemishes with a yellow toned concealer that matches the skin color. I find this technique works brilliantly. Adding a few layers will cover the blemish completely. (remember its only makeup, it will not cover any three dimensional blemishes, scars, bumps, etc)

Now that brings us onto concealer. I tend to use concealer to even out the skin tone. I conceal under the eyes ( a shade lighter than foundation) which brightens under the eye area. I also conceal around the nose, on the sides of the mouth, and any other area that you find needs a bit of extra coverage.

Onto the fun part..

These are the concealers/ correctors that I have in my kit:

BBU Palette
This is the Bobbi Brown BBU palette. It has all of her correctors and concealers AND all of her stick foundations (which I also love).  This is amazing because you will have everything you need all in one place. She also sells individual colors with the corrector/concealer combo. These would be great for everyday use.
They are super creamy and really easy to work with!
Chantilly Radiant Creamy Concealer
This is my new love. I have three shades of the new NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. These concealers are almost perfection in a tube. They do not crease, they last a lifetime, and there is a fairly good color range. My only problem is the packaging. I hate products that make it  hard to be sanitary. I love squeeze tubes and I love creams in pots. But this does not stop me from using it!! I just wipe the product from the wand onto my stainless steel palette. ANYWAYS... for every day use and women looking for a great concealer THIS IS IT. I love it.

This is the Make Up Designory Concealer Palette. I used this all through school and I still have it in my kit! These are cream concealers. It is a super convenient palette because it has a wide variety of shades and correctors. I will say though that I wish the orange was more salmon colored and the green was more of a yellow.. Its almost like the Left row is the only row that has been touched. I do like these a lot though. They are full coverage and photograph beautiful!

I absolutely have what I need to get the job done but I always love testing new products and discovering new goodies. I have been looking into Smashbox, Amazing, and Cover FX concealers. These are next on my list to try!!

If you have a holy grail concealer please comment and let us know what it is!!

I hope this was helpful!

Cream Blush

Hello Everyone!

So I wanted to share with you all that I have been weirdly addicted to "cream blush" lately.. I bought one from MAC about a month ago and ever since I have been on a cream blush kick. I think that for "Mature" skin or if you have really dry skin that cream blush will be your best friend as well! I also really love layering blushes by adding a darker cream blush as the base and then pop a brighter powder blush right on the apple of the cheek. It is beautiful used that way!!

As of right now I do not have a favorite. I have a few of the cheek/lip duos from Stila which are nice and I have one from MAC. I also have the Make Up For Ever flash palette which I am challenging myself to use more. I think I could make a lot of really beautiful colors mixing up some colors from the flash palette.

I guess right now I am more obsessed with the idea than a specific type.

Cremeblend Blush This is what the packaging looks like for the MAC cream blush. I think I might end up getting a few more from MAC. I will probably do the "pro" version so I skin skip the packaging and just put them all in a z palette. I do really like this one from MAC. I do not want to say its my favorite because I have not tried enough of other brands to tell. I have "ladyblush" and its a peachy coral color.

I am also super curious about the Illamasqua cream blush. I have read reviews about it and people seem to really enjoy those so that will probably be my next cream blush purchase.

Illamasqua - Cream BlusherThis is the packaging for the Illamasqua. I think the packaging is super cute! The only downfall is that they dont offer a pro discount or a pro refill so I can have them all in one palette. Hopefully it will be a stand out product and worth every penny!

I don't even know if this really counts as a "cream blush" but another product I am super curious about is the Make Up For Ever HD Blush. This I believe comes out in a liquid form and dries to a powdery finish..
MAKE UP FOR EVER - HD Microfinish BlushI love that this product has a pump. That automatically gives it a higher rating for me. It helps immensely with sanitation. I really love MUFE products and I can only imagine that will be a stand out product as well.

I will make a post later in the year that lets you guys know my favorites! If you have tried any of these or any cream blushes not on here let me know your thoughts and opinions!! I am always open to try new products!!

I hope you all have been doing well! Sorry posts and videos have been extremely limited!

Comment below with thoughts and opinions!!

I hope this was helpful :)
